Hah. It's that time of the year again. I have to shut down my hearing, my eyesight and if possible, my whole nervous system whenever I gulp down a burger or whatever else I find irrestible when I'm hungry... if it's not time to break fast yet. Not only that, the years I spent in government schools have only created a sense of guilt in me whenever I eat in full view of Muslims nearby. Even though all things logical say that I should just go ahead and eat, that they should be pious enough to resist temptation and I have no responsibility whatsoever to anything but my empty stomach... the guilt is still there. How could it not, when in school, we weren't allowed to drink from our water bottles in class during the fasting month?
The fact that I look like a Malay only makes it worse.
On another note, Edwin's elder sister is celebrating her 21st birthday this Saturday. Just got the invitation today, with the party theme being "Hats & Masks". The whole store is invited but something extra was written at the bottom of my (and only my) invitation card.....
Planet Hollywood yet again. And I'm opening the store tomorrow yet again. Free jug of coke from Gary yet again. Wore Starbucks uniform yet again.
But this time we left much later than last week hehehe. Consumed much more drinks than last week. Danced way more than last week.
This time danced on the floor itself. Podium pun podium la. Got to know more PH waiters/waitresses this time round.
The only thing that irked me was this one particular girl. Jennifer my regular customer who tagged along noticed it at first. Being seated at the table next to us, it was only normal for us to see the girl dancing all the time. Jennifer said she had no ryth....rht...arrgh I can't remember the spelling...hmmm..lemme see.. ryth...rhythm??? Ala belasah la. Wutever. I didn't mind about it so left it at that. Let her dance la. I kinda noticed that she danced the same moves for ALL the songs that came out, be it rock/rap/slow/nu-metal blablabla.. baju punyela sexy.. jeans so low you cud see 'the lorong'... but no ...aiyah ... no RENTAK.
And then the band sang Corazon Espinado. Wuargh I wanted to joget. But before I could stand up and go to the floor, this girl stand in front of me and starts dancing... THE SAME MOVES. She was wrecking my whole mood to cha-cha. She was wrecking the whole cha-cha system. Jennifer saw my face and started laughing like shit, tumbling all over the sofa where we sat. Hey, if my parents were there, they wud've given the girl a lesson in cha-cha on the spot. Good grief!
It's raining. I think I shall sleep a wee bit today.
I finally went to see my hairstylist after a looooooonnnggg time. He stood at the doorway, hands on hips, and gave me a stare so fierce that I walked past the shop giggling. Back in the shop, he went through my locks and asked, "You haven't been combing your curls eh?" I answered in the negative hehe. He knew why. Everytime I'm in the shop, other customers would ask if he permed my hair because my curls at the bottom looked like that of a doll's. Unreal, if you may. And I have found the secret of keeping them that way - by simply not combing through them. But the side effect is painful when I do wanna brush them before I go under the shower. I can't even start to imagine people who had their crown of glory permed! Gosh...
So as usual he gave them their much needed trim, layers and a session of blow-drying. And now, for one night only, I am gonna go to bed with straight hair for a change hehehe. Mum was furious that I didn't chop them off for the bob look I had in Form 5, which was the original plan, but bobs don't look good on curls, at least not mine. The Form 5 bob cut was great because I straightened my hair, and looked ala Julia Roberts' Tinkerbell in that Peter Pan movie haha. Like an elf, rather.
Mission: Visit hairsalon every month.
Test is later today at 8.30am. My attention span is as long as a song... about 3 minutes. Why I use that as a benchmark? Coz I study with the radio on..... and everytime a song ends, I get up and walk around the house finding for something interesting to do e.g. eat, watch tv, look at the sky, look at the traffic jam on the main road, play with my phone... you get the gist of what I'm saying.
Received my first invitation to a Deepavali open house for this year. HEHEHE
Since Thursday, I've been feeling a little 'off'. You know that feeling... when you're not your usual hyped up self, where little things like the small burst of sunlight through the curtains seem like a laser beam (hehe) and when a slice of pizza doesn't taste as yummy in your mouth. Sigh. I rarely fall sick.. though when I do it's kind of a big thing (denggi, appendicitis etc). I've been trying to be the good girl that I rarely am to avoid this impending onslaught of a fever... by drinking lots of H2O, sleeping well, seeing to my food intake etc... but still feeling 'off'.
Sinus ain't helping too. Anyone out there having their sinus/asthma attacks alot recently? I remember the last time I had my sinus this bad, it was with the gang in PD. Both Syafik and Afeef (sinus friends) complained their noses were acting up very badly for 2 weeks prior to the trip... same as me. And 2 days after that, I had the infamous trip to the doc's for my sinus treatment heh. The guys already had their respective inhalers/ drops so they were lucky. So if I'm not alone in this sinus crusade, I guess something's in the air then. Heh.
And I have a test for Financial Information for Management this Thursday. Wonderful.
Why is it that we only realise what we're doing wrong when we are sick? I mean doing wrong health-wise. The past 4 days have been rather bad for me, what with a particular customer making me feel really small as she tried to be a free-loader... and this happened the day after the girls' night out. The incident left me feeling so bitter I just sat at home later on in the day and stayed depressed. Couldn't spill the beans to anyone coz people I knew were either deliriously happy or depressed too, like myself. Someone said not to worry and that I'll probably wake up the next day happy as usual... thing was, I didn't. Why? Oh coz 'that time of the month' came. Geez.
And then and then and then righhttt.... I could feel a sore throat coming. It was plain water all the way.. right up till now too, 2 days later. This only made me all the more depressed coz' I never liked drinking warm water. I finished 2 bottles of mineral water in college today... team that up with a woman's ability to retain more water than usual during her 'time of the month', and whaddaya get?
A depressed & bloated Celeste. Yes people, the laughs you heard from me the past few days were all a front. I still hate that customer!
At first, this guy Kamarul messages me asking to be friends. I checked and found out I know him through 13(!) ways... involving 5 friends - Hajar, Sara, Amit, Naz and Buttshaker. Five VERY different people at that too. And most of the connections were through one of Kamarul's friend, Hanis. The lightbulb still didn't pop up on my head yet at that time. So I went and have a look see about her... read read read... hey this girl could be someone I know... and so I messaged her to see if she was my first neighbour in Ampang Jaya.
Sunday at the store was like s**t. People just kept coming in droves to have drinks...geez. What's worse was that we had a lion dance troupe doing their stuff right in front of the store so it only made things worse. We had to shout drinks at the top of our voices, even at customers LOL... which sounds kinda rude if you're looking at it through a silent-movie perspective hehehehe. But believe me, this was anything but silent.
And then the bomb dropped. Muha got a call from Ain (who was on her off day), asking if we girls wanna go out to Planet Hollywood just for the fun of it, since none of us girls were doing the closing shift. Muha got off work at 6, Azlin at 7 and me at 9. Cover charge for PH starts at 10pm. As the tiring day wore on, we began to look forward to the spontaneus idea and began to plan. In the end, we decided to go in our uniforms, sans Azlin who will never go anywhere without changing out of her uniform first. Funnily, we plan and coaxed each other into joining the outing while we were making drinks, so I guess that our customers knew we were gonna be in PH that night? Hahahahaha...
In the end, there were 6 of us - the 4 of us girls + Wana (Azlin's friend) and Zarul (Ain's bf) who, even though wasn't a girl, didn't screw up our intention of having fun that night. Muha's bf just started work at PH as a waiter, too so we didn't feel lost in the place. Had a cool waiter, Gary... who managed to withstand our antics.... and we had pure, clean fun... well, let's say it was laced with alcohol hahaha.. I had my favourite Long Island and some other drinks... and much to my surprise, met my cousin-model there with her big group of friends too. After my 1st drink, I started to bravely jiggle around with Muha, while the others just sat and warmed their seats cheh..... but towards the end, they began to loosen up... so yea.. me and Muha finally had company LOL.
Surprise of the evening was when Gary came up to me and asked if I wanted Coke or not. I was like no needla.. enough money gone down the drain.. what with all my drinks.. but he meant it to be on his treat. I was game for a free Coke hehe..... but lo and behold, he brought a jug! The whole table whistled at the sight and we took as much as we could with our glasses. This only made us leave our seats and wiggle our butts more to the music, which was good. We were sad in leaving at 1+am... but hey.. I had to work at 7am!! So goodbye PH....hehe
I came back home and couldn't sleep a wink darn it. Went to work all hyped up (according to Azlin the alcohol must've still been in my blood)... indeed, I managed to open the store in the fastest time possible hehehehehehe. I'm home now. And sleepy. Tata.
I had a irritating bout of sinus yesterday from the moment I woke up in Sunway. My nose itch like hell throughout the day and eating cheap chilli hot nasi lemak at Medan only made it worse. In the end, I decided to head home early instead of hanging around college.. much to the chagrin of my friends hehehehe. Sorry ye Abe for not calling you out for a movie.
This morning was no different, though. But then I digged around for my old medicine which I got from the doctor quite some time back for my sinus.. and I found what I was looking for - a container containing crystal-like stuff which, when added to hot water, lets out powerful mint-like fumes(?) for me to inhale. Wahhhh the effect! My nose went from road-blocked to the all-clear sign in seconds...woooish.. left me with teary eyes too, coz I forgot to close my eyes hihihihi. Dumb Celeste.
At work, I don't know if Ayen was pulling my leg as usual or not... but he mentioned how he received an email saying this one guy had the sinus at its worst level, where there were 2 choices left - to have an operation to remove parts of his face and infuse them with new skin tissue... or just leave it and die. It was because his sinus had spreaded to his face, and was terrible. I should thank Ayen for putting a very bad picture in my head now. Sheesh...
Did I mentioned I hate walking through Isetan on weekends? I might want to popped by KLCC tomoro. Saw a few things in Isetan just now that caught my eye. Sigh. Have to hold on to my marneeeeeeeee...
Oh and would you look at this connection of mine. Yesterday it was server down at midnite. Now... my songs are downloading at the speed of 20Kbs/ at most! If this is gonna be perpetual... I AM GONNA NEED A BURNER!!
With the dry runs for the upcoming OIC meeting being held in the heart of KL, it's been kind of a dreadful week for KL residents. For those going to work, school and other businesses early in the mornings, they have to re-time their departure from their houses and drive along alternate routes given to them by the Government in the newspapers. Starbucks sent all its stores a list of roads close and the timings so that staff won't be late for work. As I'm in Ampang, it is dreadful because the embassies are here. It's only lucky that I have to report for duty at 7am, slightly earlier than the 7.40am closure period. Heh.
But all is not as bad as it seems. KL has been a nice place to live in the past week, due to the windy days we are experiencing. I know those Penangites are having it hard, what with the torrential rains causing flash floods on the island, but the rain is also bringing the wind down north and KL is such a bliss these days. I don't have to turn on the fan in the living room because my sliding door is open the whole day to welcome the wind from beyond the balcony. Having windchimes only makes it more peaceful.
And so, I decided to go have a walk into Taman Tar on this lovely Sunday evening. Loads of other people had the same thought, and for once you see KL people actually smiling in relaxation like any other rural resident.
I managed to get the Lord Of The Rings 3: The Return Of The King teaser poster before the deadline!
All thanks to my supervisor who just got promoted. He went to the office for me and took one for him and me since the both of us bought the original VCD from Starbucks and within it contained the voucher for the poster. Sooo goooood. It’s so big… from my torso to my toes high, and the length of my arm. Aragorn’s face is sooooo huge in it.
