I should name this blog "Pathetic musings of a coffee-maker"
This blog is starting to look pathetic, don't you agree?
For one thing, I don't update much these days. Am still waiting for a fixed phone line sigh. And the pics on the left aren't showing themselves anymore.. sigh. Was supposed to shift my blog to Michelle's site but that plan kinda got hidden in the midst of my routine-like life ever since I shifted to the condo.
Well you guys have to be patient I guess :p
I went through another grilling session about coffee which was aptly named the Starbucks Coffee Master Competition Part 2 in Starbucks Taipan, USJ a week ago. Part 1 was held a few months ago if any of you remembered the entry. This time round, my team was completely taken aback by the questions posed in the Q&A session. Our first opponent, KLCC/DTC, just blew us off like dust of a windowsill. Out of 16 questions posed, we either had 0 points for not having the guts (or brains) to answer... or if we did have the guts to hit that damn bell, we had marks DEDUCTED for giving the wrong answer! Last question was posed to me.. and the Operations Manager even had the cheek to tell me that I had to answer this correctly for the sake of my team's pride. PRIDE! I couldn't think of anything else when I hit that dumb bell and actually.. gave the correct answer!! Wheeeeeee...
All in all.. we finished in 2nd place for our particular round (which included 5 teams) and it was announced that the top 6 teams from all 4 rounds would advance to the Grand Finals this coming December. Results were only to be known the next day so that gave all of us a chance to sleep hehe.
Well? We did advance to the GRAND FINALS!!
Somehow I didn't find that appealing. It only means harder work in order to satisfy people's expectation of Starbucks Great Eastern Mall. What high expectation you ask? Well for a store our size, we are making people sit up and pay attention because we have achieved far higher than expected in terms of revenue, customers's feedback and staff evaluation. I for one am being pushed by the management to be a supervisor which I have rejected because I never thought of this job as a long term career. Also, 2 weeks ago I nearly got transferred to the store that's gonna be opened in Times Square because of what I'm doing here in Great Eastern. Can you imagine moving from a low volume store to one that is gonna be as busy as KLCC?? I'll die! Hence why I'm staying here in GEM. Maybe Ampang Point when it opens la.... not Times Square for goodness sake.
So that's that. Sorry for all the coffee talk. It's just my life for the moment. Pretty sad. Like the blog. Hehe.
ACCA is 20 days away. Yet there is no definite word from the parents. Its a big decision that I have to make. Still undecided. District manager has been having talks with me on going supervisor-ish everytime she sees me... but I still disappoint her with my negative answer. It's just that I feel like I haven't studied enough. That I haven't found a topic that made me give up. To tell me that hey... you are better off working, so do that. Stop poring over books and assignments which may not give you the skills you need to make it in the working world.
ARGH!
Oh.... did I mention? That my parents have come to know about me smoking? Whahahahahahahaha.... But I still don't 'berasap' in front of them laaaaaaaa! To all my cousins out there.. if you spread this bit of news beyond the 5 members of my family and yourselves... you can forget about being invited to my wedding and my childrens' weddings and their childrens' weddings and so on and so forth.. this also applies to your offspring, mind you...
*Waiting for all my neutrons to fire in the right direction so that I can start writing*
What's new with me is that I've been ill the past couple of days. Well not ill as in dead sick, head feels like a drum etc etc etc but rather 2 weeks of waking up with the sinus finally came to a climax on Tuesday morning when I just couldn't go through it anymore and went to the doctor. I must've sneezed about 500 times before I went to see him so I just felt blegh when he announced his surprise that this was my first time in seeking treatment for my sinus.
Well whoopteedoo for me.
So then I found myself with 5 different types of medicine. "There's no real cure for sinus," he said. So what I got were flu pills and throat inflammation pills and antibiotics. Oh and Actified too.
Yes. ACTIFIED. Muehehehehe. Before taking my obligatory dosage of the pills, which were all ever so colourful and varied in sizes, I looked at the itsy bitsy yellow pill and wondered if what the Doc told me was true. That I SHOULD NEVER TAKE IT DURING MY WORKING HOURS because it'll make me drowsy. I have heard of Abe's antics with it ( HE HE ) so well, it was 10pm and I might as well take it, right? Gulp everything down then.
Hihihihihihihihihihihi..............
I was a goner by 10.30pm.
I would have slept like a baby till sunrise if not for a call from the person who introduced me to the world of Actified - Abe - at 2am but then he was wise enough to end the call with a knowing laugh when I told him why I was asleep so early that night. Very wise.
Right. My internet time in this cyber cafe is coming to an end so I'll just breeze through the rest of my life since July 7, 2003. Been meeting up with the gang from coll quite often since they were on their break. The new sem has started for them 2 weeks ago (sadly it doesnt involve me again) but not without the spontaneous trip organised by moi to Port Dickson. Spesifically, Avillion Resort, Port Dickson! Heheheheheh seriously.. if I wanna see the jakun characters that I know is hidden deep inside ALL my friends... no matter how confident, egoistic, well mannered they are... I just have to bring them to Avillion. Payal don't you agree with me? Sara? Eka? Hehehehe.
The pics will be ready soon. Just have to pry the camera away from my brother who wants to take pics of his bike with its new rims and all. Sigh.
Aiya got 5 minutes more. And no one is online! Blady hell.
