Laughing in an empty room only gives you a headache
Talking too for that matter. The whole living room has been moved to the new apartment. So if any of you call me, don't be surprised if it sounds like I'm outside.. or if it's quiet then I've brought the cordless phone to my room ehehe.
Speaking of my room, it's half empty now. Yea I did start packing like ages ago (I can't pack all at one go coz I have sinus) but the boxes were still around so it didn't feel weird. Today, as I waited to use the phone (mum was busy yacking on it), I decided to bring down everything that could be moved in an instant (dad is making a few lil trips with his restaurant's lorry). So now the left side of my room looks like miles of parquet flooring from an ant's view LOL.
*dangles my set of keys for the new apartment*
Its weird. From the corridor to the apartment right, if there weren't much trees in my view path, I can practically see the house I used to live in when I was about what... 8-12 yrs old? The small pathetic field that caused many a bruise for me is in sight too. And then from my room window... I look abit to the right and I see Kiddies Store, Pasar Mini Al-Noor and and and.. hmm wah that mat salleh supermarket has finally put up a goddamn huge signboard...fuh!
A friend told me.. if they wanted to go have makan at the Naan Corner, they'd just have to stand at the back portion, give me a miscall so that I can look out my window and see them waving for me to come down. Hahahaha. Riggghhhtttt....
I said I’d blog about Saturday’s events. But I’m lazy hehe. Ok ok, to cut the long story short….
- Worked from 7am – 1pm.
- Gave tuition from 2pm-4pm.
- Sat at home wondering whether to go to the Nirvana gig or not. Muha, Afham and Ain wanted to follow but all were depending on me to find out how much was the ticket. Abe also didn’t know, but knowing him.. it wouldn’t matter anyhow coz he alwiz seems to get into gigs/performances/raves for free so blegh. And I don’t beg for free tickets.
- Blablablablabla in the end I decided to go with Ain and meet up with Muha there blablablabla tickets were sold out blablablabla we stood outside singing along to the songs being blasted away from inside that dark tunnel that was filled with huge men and walkie talkies blablablablabla seeing Meng and Winder and Naked Breed fellas pass us was not funny blablablablaaaaaaa… me and Ain left the place.
- Met up with Afham at KLCC for dinner. Lepaked there till 10pm before proceeding to GE Mall to wait for the others to close shop hehe. Muha came finally. Practically everybody was there… ready to give an unforgettable farewell thingy to Afham, Bear and Zarul who were all resigning from Starbucks that night.
- Whipped cream was sprayed everywhere and on everybody. Leftover espresso powder were strewn all over the place as rubbish bins were overturned on unsuspecting heads hahaha… after all that running and chasing, we finally stopped and headed to a mamak in Pandan Indah for supper – joined by 9 more Starbucks staff from the Sunway store who were all Zarul’s friends.
In the end, I reached home at 5.30am.
All 3 guys are the ones that bully me in the store. Not the bad type of bullying la… rather its the type that makes you laugh till your sides crack kind of bullying. I already miss them. My manager said that the store already misses the sound of my laugh.
Last night was fun.. even though me being at the gig was a non-reality. But I'll blog about it later coz right now I gotta join my parents in washing the new apartment. Hehe they've been at it since mid-morning. I just woke up. Blegh.
I lost my cool in the store today. I couldn't stop myself with another 10 minutes to go of my shift. My manager made the mistake of following me outside of the store when she noticed my tensed face the moment she stepped into the store towards the end of my shift. When she grabbed the towel in my hand (I wanted to clean the tables) I knew I couldn't stop her from digging the truth from me. I knew I had to tell her what happened in the store today. I knew I had to badmouth another partner who didn't give me a helping hand today. Today... the day I made nearly RM600 in 3 fucking hours in front of the cashier. The day I had to torture the new girl in training to do the ice blended drinks because I was too busy myself at the bar. The day I got my best friend.
And when I opened my mouth to tell her, everything came pouring out. Muha said this was the day Celeste finally had the guts in her to complaint to the manager. The day the manager would find out that Celeste actually has complaints about another partner, that not everything isn't as rosy as it seems.
I just hope this doesn't create more trouble. I just wished I had waited for 10 more minutes and shut my gap about it and just gone back home.
Started as a slow learner, you soon proved to be one of the strongest barista I have. Proving yourself to the maximum at the Coffee Master Challenge, you did the store proud. Thank you so much! Hope you will change your mind and concentrate on a full time job.
That was taken from my M.U.G. Award Certificate. Hehe MUG stands for Moves of Uncommon Greatness. Not everybody gets a MUG award you know.. hehe.
Chilis didn't happened because we couldn't get a 50% discount in the end. MCH. So we went to the Seoul Korean BBQ restaurant in Kerinchi. You know, the one in the building that houses the Kerinchi Putra LRT station. Our screwed up faces (for not having Chilis) were somewhat softened at the sight of the food. OH MY GOD. All these food for RM26 only? It was an all you can eat thingy... all you have to do is pick the food and cook it yourself at the table. You'd have salad and shit for starters, the heavy meat stuff for main course, along with lighter stuff such as hotdogs and all, and there's also lots of jelly and rojak and soup for desserts.. and a corner for ice cream! Was I filled to the brim?
YOU BET! More so because I had loads of prawns and mussels and chicken (fried, pepper, honey, BBQ you name it I had it) and squid and and and... ooooohhhhhhhh was I full!
And you know what? Lunch is only for RM15. He he he I think I've found a place to meet up with friends for makan. Let's see..hmm....

Today was a shitty day at work. Well the shittiness didn't start there la.. it started when I woke up sneezing. Coz you see right, yesterday I reached home to find that mumsie has unscrewed my bed and was in the midst of cleaning my room. I do clean my room once a month, but for the corner where the bed is. So when she took apart my bed, the dust just went straight up and around into the air. Mummy didn't realise I was standing with a horrified look on my face in the doorway to my room and she shooed me downstairs when she did. TOO LATE. My nose the almighty dust detector had already triggered my immune system deep down inside, only to show its effects this morning. I tell you, if this is what you call an undeveloped sinus problem, I pity the person who has it full blown. I pity the person!
And then there was today. Work was at 7am. Opening felt lonely because horrors of all horrors, I was put together with a new girl in training and a supervisor from another store which had only begun work a month ago. And it had to be a Saturday! If at usual my 1st customer would come in at 8.30am, giving me all the time to set up the store, today a regular came in at 7.30am sharp. Sigh. This is not good. Not good. True enough. Customers came in at a constant rate, not giving me any chance to stock up or even have a walk around the store to check for cleanliness. Nobody complained though, so it was all good I guess. Either that or they were too engrossed with their lattes and shit hehe.
So instead of finishing at 3pm, I was given an hour's extension. Came back home totally zombiefied.. ate 1-2 goreng pisangs, then dozed off on my mattress (not bed, mattress)... only to be woken up at 9pm by a miscall from an unknown number. Sigh, I guess that was kinda like an alarm clock for me to wake up to dinner.... although it took me 30 minutes to actually roll off the mattress ehhehe.. the glow in the dark stars on my ceiling was just nice at that moment. LOL
oooOOOoooooOOOoooo... tomoro is the DINNER. Dinner at Chili's Bangsar. And the bill is gonna be paid by Starbucks. Hehe it's because the past 4 months or so, our store sales has been way off the target mark, and so this is a reward for all of us from the company. So tomoro we'll handover the store to complete strangers for the night while we whet our appetites in CHILIS. Man. I'm already dying at the thought. I just love their sauteed mushrooms.
Did you know that Kenny Roger's Quarter Chicken Meal now comes with 3 side dishes??
Other than that, I watched Matrix: Reloaded at Sunway Pyramid this afternoon.
(What?? No exclamation mark??!)
Yea guys, no exclamation mark because, well either I'm becoming a fussy pot at deciding which movies satisfied me... or the movie was really a near bore. N-E-A-R. I hoped Michelle liked it (though I don't think she didn't) because she had to sacrifice a few hours away from her assignments, a few more hours than expected because Midvalley was sold out and we decided to head to Pyramid since I've managed to watch a couple of blockbusters there on their 1st days. You can count on Pyramid to still have tickets for ya one hour before the show. That's about the only thing I like about Sunway. Heh.
The opening scenes were promising. Superman effect was awesome... especially the part where he stopped mid-air, gave a big 'how do you like my new suit' turn and whooshed back down. But the Burly Brawl a.k.a the one with the many Smiths... that gave a glimpse into what I might get from the movie. I don't know, it lasted too long till it looked ridiculous? *shrugs* Ohhhh.. Trinity landing on the ground with her bike smashing the building.. chewaaaaahhhh..
I know Morpheus commands attention with his voice. But he didn't mine. :p
The big rave scene. Hey with Oakenfold's music making them jump like that, how to not to call it a 'rave'? I'm can't decide if the scene was nice... or not.
Freeway chase was good. Loved Trinity on the bike. And it all ended with a good ol' "YES" from Link hehe.
I liked the scenes with Persephone. Hahaha.. she's one cheeky b****.. hahahaha
I guess that's it from me. I don't think I'll watch Reloaded 50 more times when it comes on Astro like how I did the 1st instalment.
One of my fave blogs - Psychomatic Addict Insane - is going on a hiatus. Finding a blog that you like on first impression, and then liking it through the next 10349 impressions is already hard enough to come by... what more a blog where the writer actually responds to your comments. Sigh I'll be missing you, Za, till you decide to write again :)
Other than that... I'm just feeling good with myself because I went to a warehouse perfume sale and bought myself some cheap-O stuff! Now I'm sparkling all over with this Davidoff glitter gel and am feeling itchy to try out the Moschino perfume too but that can wait. Takkan I wanna go sleep after just having sprayed myself right? *me smacks Abe who influenced me to get the Moschino* How's yours? Hehe how's the toilet? Damn perfumes, whole smelling system went haywire LOL.
Also got a call from someone who I wished didn't call. An ex-best friend who screwed up everything just because of a miscommunication thingy. I know I don't usually hate people, but he's something else you know.
Recently, quite a few articles in the printed media struck the familiarity nerve in me:
-- The recent story of a Datuk Seri who hit and bruised a former TV host at a popular nightspot in Jalan P. Ramlee. I found out the former TV host was none other than a girl I knew who took the same school bus as me during my primary school days. Stays near me, too… well that is, if she hasn’t moved to anywhere else since the last I saw her, what… 5 years ago?
-- The amazing story of how a girl won RM60, 000 through a radio station’s call and win contest… and DONATED all of it to Mercy Malaysia – our national fund for the Iraqis. Who is she? She’s a junior of mine in college! And most probably the mysterious friend I have on my MSN Messenger list – who doesn’t want to show herself to me yet knows all about me and my friends in college.
-- Klue Magazine. An article about where to get good food from off the shelves to prepare good food in the kitchen. First spotlight – Hock Choon! Hahaha anybody and everybody who lives/lived in Ampang would know this place. Seriously, if you think you used to go ga-ga over all the food in a supermarket whilst riding the trolley in that really small square cage where your feet always gets entangled, you should check out this place. Supermarket ga-ga, supermarket gu-gu.
-- Klue Magazine. Same article as above. Tops Marketplace in Great Eastern Mall. Hahahaha now you know why I’m always in that place, huh? I HATE bright lights in supermarkets and 7-11s… dahla my eyes are Chinese-liked, I have to squint summore in these places… except for this particular Tops. The meat is section is… hmmm… funky?
-- Klue Magazine. Last page – a peek into actress Sofia Jane’s life. She mentioned my Starbucks store as one of her hangout places, hehe.
-- Klue Magazine. Same article as above. She raves about how nice it is to live in nearby Taman TAR in Ampang. Her description of it doesn’t differ much from mine. That place is lovely to go for walks and shit. Sigh. Hope I start doing those things again when I shift into the new apartment, which is down the road from it.
Rarely do I come across articles like these. Hence this entry.
You can always count on TGV Sunway Pyramid to still have seats for a newly opened anticipated flick even if you’re booking for a show that’s 4 hours later.
Oh and did I mentioned that X-Men 2 rocked my socks? Hehe.
I found these bits entertaining:
Nightcrawler’s (the cheeky monk!) trail of smoke/dust as he teleports. In the comics, you just see ‘poof!’ when he does that. In the cartoon, it looks kinda naughty in a childish way. In the movie… my eyes went haywire as a result of staying in awe as he vanished, leaving the grayish blue smoke behind and trying to follow the camera to where he teleports next. !@$#@!
Seeing a female Banshee. LOL! I laughed like shit when she screamed. ( I later found out her name is Siryn )
Seeing Colossus. I’m not even sure if I got the name right. In the comics, he had a sister who passed away in a battle or something, and as a result he defected to Magneto’s side in their base of operations in outer space.
Pyro’s fireshow at Bobby’s house. What Magneto mentioned later on in the movie – “You are a God amongst insects” – when Pyro said that he doesn’t feel that his powers are great because he can’t create fire (as to how Iceman creates ice), but only alter it is true. Look at Magneto. He’s useless without steel. Give him an inch of it, and … you’ll know what I mean if you’ve seen the movie.
The fact that Storm had more ‘show of power’ scenes in the sequel. The best? Hmm.. I’d go with the ‘1001 hurricanes’ scene.
The director putting in another ‘I’m stuck with adamantium’ character in the movie to counter Wolverine. Did Yuriko/Lady Deathstrike exist in the comics? I’m not a great follower so she was a nice surprise to me.
Seeing the cheekiness of Nightcrawler hahaha. I’ve always called him ‘The Cheeky Monk’ so I got restless when he didn’t show a single bit of it halfway through the movie. And then, out of nowhere, he goes all cheekymonky with… of all mutants… Mystique!! MYSTIQUE!! Do you know who is Mystique??? She’s his… his… his… ah I won’t burst your bubble. You can go and search the answer yourself. Haha.
OoooOOooohhhh… the hint that Phoenix might make an appearance in the next sequel!!!
And I found these bits disappointing:
They are still wearing BLACK! I mean come onnn… there’s enough of black clothes in movies. Ok so Cyclops would look like the dingdong Wolverine thinks he is if he were to wear his trademark light blue with yellow underwear in the movie… But hey… Wolverine would be yellow TOP to TOE! How can Storm NOT be white??
The short and somewhat kelam kabut fight scene between the two adamantium mutants. Seriously, I couldn’t follow them close enough to see whose claw is going where.
Rogue still can’t FLY nor KICK people’s ass to the moon.
Gambit is still a no show. And so is Jubilee. And Beast. ( Hey the newspapers said that Gambit and Jubilee were in the movie. Where??? )
Ever notice the bad mutants are just Magneto and Mystique?
That’s about all I can remember of what I felt when I watched the movie. Oh and there’s a lesson from all this – Never watch a movie like this which has a history behind it with a person who has never known about it. I took Eka along without knowing that she doesn’t know(!) nuts about the X-Men. Oh the questions that came out of her… my godddd…
