When I first started this blog, my intention was to write whatever that was in my mind because sometimes, when I read the papers, I have my own opinions on a few issues too. Being lazy to churn out a well written letter to the editor, and the ghastly thought of how my letter was gonna be edited by some stranger so that it would be grammatically correct for the masses successfully undid (if there was such a word) my well meaning purpose. So then came this blog. But what of it? I see nothing but my daily life in here. More like Celeste’s schedule. LOL. It is rather pathetic, don’t you agree? This sudden realization got to me when many a time, as a result of sitting at home without a phone line to connect me to the Internet, I found myself summarizing my opinions of what-had-happened-in-the-world-today with Papa when he came home from work at night. He was the one who forced me to read the front page of The New Straits Times out loud when I was 8, even though I didn’t know what all those big words meant. Along the way, I found out the meanings and the texts in front of me became interesting. Politics is always interesting, hahaha. Mummy growls at the idea that these days, it takes me nearly an hour to read the papers simply because I read every darn article.
So those summaries, I could have put them into a blog, you know, my opinionated corner of the web. But alas, that was my purpose in the 1st place! So here I am, telling you that the content of this blog is gonna see some changes… but seeing how I always stray off from my initial intention, I can’t guarantee you a permanent change. It might also be a breathe of fresh air to some of you. I’ve had a look around at other blogs, local and international, and found myself only reading those which were filled with opinions. Because all through the day in the real world, I hear loads of bitching, love problems, where they partied the night before, who their current crush is, how cute of a butt they think this particular guy has blablablablablaaa…. So its only my instincts kicking when I come across a blog with similar content hehe.
The only thing that made me laugh in the papers 2 days back was this really small article at the bottom of a page. It said that a Russian was hurt when his car fell 2 metres from the road onto the beach in Melaka Raya, Malacca. Ok, I know the place. Its pretty dark at night and without a moon, the sea next to you just looks like one huge black blanket. And he had made a right turning from the road and wham!… he’s on the beach. But there were supposed to be railings if I can remember correctly…so that was a wonder. And then it said that he got lost finding the Portuguese Settlement so he was trying an alternative route. *Cackles with laughter* My mum hails from the Settlement. Ask any taxi driver and he’ll bring you there coz it’s a tourist attraction (don’t ask me why, its just normal folk living a quiet life). And you know what, Melaka Raya is totally OUT if you wanted to give somebody directions to the Settlement. Hahahaha. My whole family laughed when I told them. Guessed everybody at the National Christmas Open House did too when they read their papers that morning. Hehehehe.
Oh and congrats to my youngest bro for getting what he got for his PMR examination. He still says its pathetic if compared to his sister who kinda set the benchmark for all the cousins in both sides of the family with hers 6 years ago. But to me, it was a commendable effort. Three cheers for my bro!
